Your System...
...has recovered from a serious error.Well, I finally tracked down the culprit in the mystery of what the f*** is wrong with my computer. Through extensive testing and retesting I determined that the power supply was the component that was causing problems. Apparently the PS was upset with the hours and the working conditions, so it decided to retaliate against two of my HDD's. The first victim, mentioned in this post, was an IDE drive configured for extra storage. It seems that this is where it took out most of its revenge. The file system on that drive was completely corrupted, and the data stored within was completely hosed.
The second and final bit of offensive behavior happened on Sunday. In a last ditch effort to become a martyr, my PS zapped the master boot record of my system drive so bad that it required a repair of the windows installation for the computer to be functional. Apparently the PS had become bored with IDE drives and decided to move on to the main serial drive. I didn't know this until yesterday when I installed a replacement PS. Luckily, no important personal data was lost on the system drive, which is more than I can say for D:\.

I now have the offending PS in custody. It is my plan to detain the PS until such time as it can be executed by the most cruel and unusual means possible.
